RE: my pass airbags off light is on
The sensor in the seat has 3 different conditions it can be in
1. Seat Empty -- airbag OFF,Light OFF
2. Seat has something less than 70 lbs -- Airbag OFF, Light ON
3. Seat has something over 70lbs -- Airbag ON -- Light OFF
BTW this along with a lot of other good stuff is in the flipping manual.

You're right, I am nobody, but I do like to help people and get helped on this site. But most people on this site ask questions because they don't understand something, they want to verify information, or because they need information, NOT because they want someone to be their secretary. Your question is EASILY answered in your owners' manual. You don't see any posts how to set the 'my color' option do you??
Because your new, I'll save you the trouble of actually reading your owners manual. The passenger air bag has a sensor to automatically disengage when a certain weight is detected - approx. 70 lbs. When it senses a lesser weight (like your bags) it disengages. This is a common feature in most all new cars as it is directly related to children. As airbags can be fatal for children, vehicles disengage the airbags when sensing a smaller weight in the seat cause it's assuming it's a child.
Now if your light is on all the time everytime you start and drive the car, it is because your sensor is stuck in your seat and it is a quick warranty fix at a local dealer. [sm=closed.gif]
