Default Wax on Vinyls?

Im going to wash and wax up my stang for the first time once the weather stops sucking for at least a few days, I have the vinyl tape stripe on the side tho, and Ive never had vinyls before, I was just wondering can I wax that or do I have to avoid it? I remember with my Focus I got wax on the black plastic trim and it looked really bad and I couldnt get it off until I bough some Back to Black (works wonders on black plastics!) Thanks.

do not wax your vinyl stripes unless you have a clearcoat over them. i've had it leave white stuff on my stripes... just don't do it lol

I've had good luck with RejeX from corrosionX. I use it over the clear bra on my car, it can also be used on plastic and glass.

Ya, don't wax over stripes especaily black stripes! I've polished over them and that seemed to be ok. Its hard work to get it to look not smeary though. I just used Zaino and that stuff works awsome over vinyl stirpes.

As a previous 1979 Trans Am owner, the one with the huge bird decal on the hood, i can tell you for sure, DO NOT wax vinyl decals. Waxing will eventually take the surface color off of the decals. Hope that helps.
