I'm thinking one of the touches that can make stripes work on a vert is to make sure you do stripes on the piece above the windshield too.

I was just going to say the opposite [sm=icon_quiet.gif], I think the small piece of stripe above the winshield stands out and looks funny, jmo. I would just stripe from the spoiler to the windshield, down the decklid to the bottom of rear panel.

Post some pics after you do all your mods and with the new wheels, then get some opinions if you need to add anymore to your stang...you don't want to over-do-it either.

Just realized that I never posted pix of the final product. I decided to go ahead with the stripes and to paint the piece between the windshield and the top. So far, the reaction hasn't been at all mixed; it's been unanimously in favor of the stripes. The only downside I've encountered with the stripes is that they make the car even more attentive-getting to the local constabulary.

Thank you all for your replies to my original post. Of course, the floor is still open for opinions on the final outcome even though I'm not going to undo the $1,200 paint job ;-)

go for it.. stripe it.. no matter what, if you pick the right stripe color.. it will look kickass.. convert. or coupe, stripes looks great on our cars.

I kinda like the black on silver. It ties in with the black convertible top. I don't know if any others colors would look good, cause of the black top. But I'm not a real stripe fan myself.
