I don't know cause that's really against the grain. Myself, and everyone else I have talked to with the shifter has commented the opposite. I only have stiffnesss in 5th and reverse and everything else is like butter.... hmmmm - I wish I could help on this one but I haven't got a clue.

Shot in the dark, but could your mechanic have possibly put the shift rod on the wrong side of the shifter? Or possibly installed the brass spacers incorrectly where the "long side" is off center to the opposite side it supposed to be?

Well, I'm going to bring that up to him next time I go to his shop and hopefully get that streightened out. Thanks.
