SSE Rear Valance Lip
Has anyone bought the Street Scene Rear Valance Lip for their car? How did it attach to the car? I ordered mine and it came in but the body shop guy doesn't like having to use 3M tape and having only 2 screws holding it on. Did you have to imprevise with any clips or bolts? Any input would be very valuable.

I plan on getting the same spoiler. There's a few guys with these already installed. I haven't heard of any problems with the 3m. The tape is pretty strong. I don't think you'll have any problems. The factory spoilers are bolted on but also use adhesive. I tried to take mine off one day and couldn't budge it.

Anytime you use adhesive like 3M I worry about it holding moisture and causing rust, I could be and probably am wrong but it still worrries me anyway so I don't use products that get put on that way.

Yeah, I guess that's a possibility. I'm not sure if it will happen unless you live around the coast with all the salt air. Generally if you keep the car clean and dry, I don't think you'll have problems with the trunk rusting underneath the spoiler, especially with the surface painted and cleared.

I have the same kit, my body shop guy threw that 3m crap away. My bodyshop removed my rear bumper and installed a thin steel or aluminium plate across the underside of my rear bumper, then used self tapping stainless steel screws to install the rear valance. There are a couple of areas, that you can see a slight gap, but I would have to point them out to you, know one else seems to notice. Talk to your body shop guy, my guy also used some sort of glue to fill in gaps, maybe polyurethane, I don't remember what he said, but it looks good.

i dont think hes talking about a spoiler guys.... your talking about the rear lip right? i like it but 179 seems a bit much for it, then 100 for paint. so untill i get more money its a no go. lol
