If my memory seves me right, go to the Flowmaster web site. I think they have glass packs. We used to call them cherry bombs. They did sound nice on the larger engines but our little 281 has a higher sound to them and we are trying to pull that higher sound down to a low deep sound. I wouldn't even say that fart cans are in the glass pack family.

Glass packs did wonders for my V6 exhaust system. They don't make the exhaust louder or deeper.... they eliminate high-pitched frequencies from the exhaust note. This causes a "deeper" sound, but doesn't actually deepen the note at all.

It's quieter on the inside only. That's because I staggered them at 3" to break up the drone I was getting inside the cab.

GTs have slightly different mufflers on each side, which do the same thing. Since I have two FM40s on, I did this to compensate.

I may be strange but I actually like the drone sound. I just dont like the dash rattles that come with it!

I have a custom "Loud Mouth" type exhust that a local shop did for me for $150, and I would love to put some glass packs in there to quiet it down a little on the freeway...

The nicest sounding car I ever heard in my life was my buddys '65 Chevelle. It had Mitchell glasspacks and had the sweetest, most perfect purr you ever heard. And it was a 283! Only two lousy cubes bigger than our GTs! This was around 1970. Ive been searchin' for a NOS set of Mitchells for years, but so far I cant find any trace of them. [&o]

Glass packs are great! I don't have them on the '05, but I have heard glass packs on a few 5.0's from the early 90's and it sounded pretty sweet.

I would go with either getting them and getting them installed at a Midas or some similar place (should be cheap too, < $100) or get them and put them on yourself in place of the stock mufflers if you're handy.

Here's a quick idea of where you can get them:
