Mattblasi,

All very well said. Your $500k claim is the exception not the rule, accidents are very very common but $500k claims are not at all common.

Lawyers indeed can be helpful in some situations. The other side's first offer was $125k. Your attorney's first demand was probably $3,000,000 or something like that. It goes both ways my friend. Most claims that settle for $4k-$5k first receive a time-limit demand of $80k-$100k. EXACTLY like you said, no matter what profession you're in, everyone's trying to get more more more.

Good 1st hand knowledge reply.

actually they offered we countered with outrageous high $800k, isettled because statistically settlement values over the last 8 years have steadily decreased, my theory is everyone fears they will be next to be sued....just a theory

Sorry 4wheelkillr,

I have been in an accident before and I did in fact get paid TWICE.

Once for the hosital bills. What one does with it is based off of how savvy you are.

Second for the "pain and suffering".

Second thing,

Getting a lawyer has NOTHING to do with scaring you into anything, YOU in fact are not even in the equation, respectfully.
