Default K&N is out, What to get?

The K&N Aircharger just isn't cutting it anymore. From the information I gathered it seems the best step up from this is to get the JLT II from Evolution Performance and Fred's tunes. I already have the SCT Xcal2 so I am guessing I would just load new tunes onto it. Anyway, the tune I am running now is the 93 brenspeed tunes and it is great. Will it be a signifigant power gain with the new intake and tune? Are their any other intakes I should consider? Can anyone with the Evolution Performance set up comment on it or compare it to the brenspeed tune? The main purpose of this post is to make sure that I am not disappointed with my new set up, like I was with the K&N aircharger and to answer the previous questions.

I have a jlt II and xcal2 from Evolution and it is awesome. I have an auto and the diffrence is night and day. The JLT II is not the highest quality as far as materials are concerned if I could do it over I would go with one of the C&L CAIs. C&L has an aluminum and plastic CAI. The JLT II looks like a guy made it in his basement but the results I got were awesome.

What was wrong with the K&N? I might be interested in it, but I can't decide if I just want the C&L with a tune. I would get the C&L but the whole voiding the warranty with a tune is holding me back.
