they are part of the seat.

the mustang does not have side curtains. something that does need to be added for even greater protection.

i wish the NIHS would safety rate the mustang. I wonder how it would hold up.

totally worth it IMO.........my friend got tboned in his honda element (i had one too, they're crap lol) but since he got side airbags, it only bruised his shoulder instead of much worse........they said he could have died without them..........while im not sure about that, its definetly worth a piddling 370 bucks lol, if god forbid you have an accident you'll know what i mean.

Funny, because I'd actually not thought of including them when I was considering ordering my 2005 GT coupe. When I realized I'd never be able to wait for an order I went to the dealer where ALL the GTs had the side air bag option! The dealer was including them on every Premium GT that they ordered with the IUP upgrade. Smart, i guess. They want to make sure their customers live to buy again!
Do the models without the side air bags have those little tags? Why are they there anyway? For the firefighters? Or to let the car thieves know.

so you can tell if there is side airbags or not after you take the sticker off and resell it... or the firemen/paramedics i suppose

I am about to order an 06 GT Vert. I noticed that almost all of the Mustangs on my dealer's lot do not have side airbags included with their optional equipment.

Regardless of possible insurance premium savings, I am of the mind that if one is going to spend this much money on a car it makes sense to "spring" for the added protection of the side airbags. Opinions?
Look at it this way.... if ya get in an accident and killed cuz you didnt have the bags you have nothing to worry about... you saved $$$$

The tags are there for many reasons. Yes it's mportant for firefighters, paramedics, police and even service techs or tow companies. I work in a city where our police department still offers lockout service to motorists. Several police officer (none of ours thankfully) have been seriously injured and even killed due to attempting to open a lock with a slimjim and inadvertently triggering the side airbag. Bad news! So we have to determine if there are bags before we slimjim.

Well being involved in the auto repair field I ordered my car without the side air bags. That is just one more electronic part that can have isses and believe me they do all the time and not just the Fords it as all kinds of cars that are always throwing codes for th air bags. Besides that 370.00 cost can go for a mod.
