I think the value will go up after about 30 years because everyone loves the new mustang. The 00-04 cobras are different because those model years sucked. Buying one this year I think would be like the difference between a 64 1/2 and a 65 or 66. They dont look much different but people will give some pretty crazy cash to have the low vin number of a 64. Also, if Ford manages to pull themselves back together soon then I think the value will go up even more because the new Mustangs will be held largely responsible. A Land Rover isnt a collecter's car or even a sports car so that's like comparing Apples to Oranges...Land Rovers get the crap beaten out of them and they were getting bounced around between independence, BMW, and Ford around that time werent they? I could be mistaken on that last part

That doesn't look like a gt500 if that pic was suppose to be of one. I may be wrong but I thought they had 3rd brakelights in the spoiler. Looks like a modded gt maybe. Again I could be wrong.
Oh it's the real McCoy alright.

I'll post all the pics I took....
I took it last july or august...
It's got that primered hood that so many people saw on the test mules in las vegas around that time last year. It's got Michigan "manufacturer" plates. It's got some type of data antenna on the roof with the wire coming out of the passenger side window. It's got some diagnostic stuff around the tailpipes. And it's got tons of diagnostic equipment and computer screens setup on the dash. All of this stuff is setup in a fashion that suggests diagnostics...NOT a really shoddy and crappy attempt to make a GT look like a GT500.

It's the real deal..trust me...here's some more pics...

Like I said I could be wrong but if they do hold that it goes along with not driving it alot,me it would be my daily driver,if you got alot of money diffrent story, but lets say us poor working slobs, some of us could just afford it but would you not want to drive you next 40 pay checks around?

I guess in the end if you can afford it you can afford to let it sit also, still a shame to let her sit though.

alright guys...some of you are saying that you don't think the gt500 is worth the price, but let's think about it:

1. You get a s/c big block 5.4L that is very similar to the ford gt supercar.
2. You get one of the best trannys in the industry with the t-56.
3. You get a race proven suspension.
4. (In my opinion) You get one of the best looking mustangs built to date.

(Compare this to your '05/06 GT's that you get for about 30k. So for 15k more you get all this?! Come on you aren't going to find a s/c 5.4L, a t-56, and a race proven suspension for under 15k!)

And so what if it's heavy! Instead of putting a ton of money into the motor, put some money into making the thing lighter. If you do a pulley swap, cai, exhaust, and tune with this new car you will have one of the baddest cars on the street. I think 45k is a freakin bargain! So... just wait til we start seeing some of these things on the street. I think a lot of you will change your mind.

P.S. I'm not flamin or hating on anyone in here. I love the 2005/2006 mustangs (all mustangs for that matter).

Also, I think the gt500 will hold it's value really well. I saw a 2004 mystic cobra for sale the other day. They wanted $35,000 for it.

msrp is supposed to be around 45. Dealer mark up is probably where people are getting there 80.
