Default Got my new GT today ..

well guys ... today I went to the dealer and picked up my new GT ...

It's a 2006 5-speed tungsten GT .. with red leathers and IUP package with SHAKER500 ... and fan blade rims .... like some of you know i had a 05 auto gt.. and my dream was to have the manual... lol and now its a dream come true...

well from what i have noticed until now ... the bell sound when u insert the key is not the same and i also noticed that there is a small icon on the rpm which resembles a car doing burnouts ... i think it flashes when the tires spin ... other than that i think ford used a stupid quality on the steering leather ... cuz its not the same feeling but its not bad ... thats all until now ... and i love the manual ... up until i break in my motor im gonna tell u all the diffrences between the manual and the auto ....

but i also have 2 questions ...

how do i break in the motor ?

and the tranny sound is loud when shifting .. is that normal ?

thank you and im gonna post pics as soon as i get them i just kept jumping with a big smile when i saw my gt and couldnt think of anything other than driving it..

How did you break in the last motor? Vary the speeds and drive it like you stole it. The tranny noise you hear is normal. Congrats on the new car. It only seems like you sold the last one just this past week. That tire light you see on the tach is the traction control system activating when you start the car. It should go right off after a second or two after starting the car, if it doesn't then you must be spinning your wheels or it needs to be serviced.

Congrats saud Hope you get the best out of it. regarding your question how to break in the engine well your rpm should not exceed 3 try to keep it under 3 and go like that for about 1000 to 1500 kilometers . After that take the car out on a straight line and just floor it to get the engine to open up Thats the best way for sports car. My m3 had that writen in the manual and even th company said that. Also my porche was the same. Same with the slk55 and many other sports cars .

lucky... have fun with it and take it easy for the first 1000 miles or so... and get the oil/ oil filter changed at 1000 miles

Congrats Saud!!!

As for the manual tranny being noisy.... that is the exact same thing I been crying over for over a month until so many people convinced me that I don't own a lemon. Don't beat yourself up for it, it's just built that way.

Also, if you happen to turn the defrost on and you hear the a/c converter turn off and on constantly, don't be alarmed, I was worried about that too.

As for breaking in, don't use the speed control until 1000 miles other than that, go nuts with it man!

You should still take it to Redline now and then, just vary the RPM and change the oil at 500-1000 mile like eveyone has said.

I just changed my oil for the first time today at 861 miles and it was still very clear and I could easily see light through it, and there were no metal filings in the filter or oil. So you could probably wait longer to change it than i did, and I did break it in like I stole it...

With the new cylinder coatings that they use on the newer engines, there is not nearly the level of concern for the break-in of the engines that there used to be.
