There's no reason to. The Shaker 8" takes all the low frequencies in the front, so a 6x9 would just be a huge midrange. Lots of cutting to get it in there too. Waste of money and effort.

I asked cause I've got a set of 6x9s I had laying around, but didn't wanna tear everything out just to find they don't fit.
I'll wait 'til I've got the 6x8s and while doing the install, see if/how the 6x9s fit. Mounting depth was my concern. If they don't fit in the doors, they should at least fit in the rear deck.

hey guys i have an '05V6 with the shaker 5 system and just wanted to know what does the shaker 5 system consist of? i know the speakers on the doors are shaker speakers but are the rear deck speakers shakers too or just part of the base stock system? if the rears aren't shaker then i'm thinking of going with pioneers
