Default Brake dust shields

Hello all.

In order to keep the wheels clean(er), I decided to get some brake dust shields to put on my '06 GT (17" painted alum wheels). The rear ones went on just fine, but the front ones didn't. I don't know much about brakes so bear with my bad terminology here - there are 2 wire loops protruding from the calipers on the front brakes that come awful close to the spokes of the wheel. When I put the dust shields in the wheel and put the wheel back on the car, those metal loops rub against the shield. Has anyone tried putting dust shields on their front wheels? If so, how were you able to avoid making contact with those metal loops? I pushed the dust shields as far into the wheel as possible and still can't keep from making contact.

Hi Vader,
welcome to the Forum

The EASIEST solution to cut down on break dust is getting
ceramic brake pads, got them on all our cars and it makes
a HUGE difference as compared to the 'stock' pads !

Just thought I'd share !

Couldnt have said it better.
I was amazed at the difference with the Ceramic's. My rear wolud be the onces getting dirtier quicker. They didnt make them for the rear of my previous car.

The Mustang gets washed before brake dust ever has a chance, lol.

Also the shields cut down some on the brake cooling, not sure I would want to put them on this car.
