Dreading the refill tomorrow, help me guys!

RE: Dreading the refill tomorrow, help me guys!
2300 miles so far- three filling stations- the first two were a disaster(car had 2.4 miles the first time it burped all over itself) every other time Ive been to the same BP station about 10 minutes from home- I know it works...twice I got brave and even went to a different pump. At 'my' bp station, if I fill slow on first detent, nozzle normal, but pulled back a little bit, it only dribbles a bit, and that runs out the little bib ford put under it...youll probably know better than to even ever think of topping off. And if you hear a hint of a gurgle shut off and step back- both times mine spewed it was gurgle-click-1/2 second-woosh.
ps- dont stand right next to the car while waiting- the second time it got me and really stunk up the new car smell.
its all about finding a station without fast flowing pumps- Ive decided if I go on vacation and gotta gasup elsewhere to shut off at certain gallons rather than risking a mess. Ford I guess decided that its not a problem, that a almost 4 foot long 3/4 inch id tube snaking all around filling one side of a split tank has nothing to do with venting...its so obvious the pumps are flawed. I still may try adding a vent line on it to see if it would help, but am having too much fun driving right now.
lots of folks have no problems at all- seems to be hit or miss by the gaspumps used...

I’ve found that if I use the pumps with the newer plastic nozzle covers that go all the way down near the end, they don’t work so well. However the older nozzles with just the rubber shield work fine. I haven’t yet tried the turning method.

Also! Check your info center and note the amount of gas you used. That way you will know exactly how much gas you will need if the pumps clicks off a few times.

I had the same problems with this. Mine was built 02/2006. It only seems to happen at a local Shell here so far. I thought it was just me. I'll keep an eye on it and take it if needed.

Bought my Stang in South Dakota, on the way back to Arizona, I had problems everytime I filled up. Been back for 2 months now and hasn't happened at all. Definatly something different here than all of those other pumps.
