Has nothing to do with tolerances. It has to do with MPG. I would not run 10w40 that is for sure. You would be ok with a 5w30 but nothing more than that and stick with Synthetic.

IT has everthing to do with tolerances, stick with 5-20 only nothing else. I believe th engineers who designed the engine and require 5-20 know what they are doing. They tighten the tolerances which required thinner oil thus a small gain in gas mileage.

yeah i'm still trying to determine if i'm gonna use 5w-20 or 5w-30. The 5w-30 is easier to find by me. From what i remember the mobil 1 supersyn 5w-30 is also on the light weight of the 30 side so how would it not be ok?
