Default whipple question..........WTF?

This is taken directly from the WhippleCharger website:

HO SYSTEM
While 405RWHP might be enough for some, Whipple and Ford Racing have also developed the biggest, baddest intercooled system available today. The HO system boasts a massive aluminum air-to-water intercooler with a bar/plate design and 19fpi. This enormous intercooler mounts inside the cast aluminum long runner Whipple intake manifold. The air-to-water system stays cool with an oversized Fluidyne heat exchanger, nearly twice the size of some of the competition. A GT500 high-flow fuel pump takes care of the extra fuel flow while the Ford Racing PCM flash tool reconfigures the factory PCM for incredible, reliable power. The HO package pumps out an astonishing 475RWHP and over 450RWTRQ, all on 91-octane pump gas and a 100% stock engine! You’ll make nearly 400RWTRQ at the hit of throttle with an instant 8lbs of boost, something turbo and centrifugal systems simply cannot do.

Now, if this HO system, that was co-developed by Ford Racing can make 475RWHP, how are they letting people bolt in on there "100% stock engine" only to blow it to kingdom come?? People are grenading the stock bottom end at around 450RWHP I though..............

But, if Ford co-developed this blower, and it DOES push out that much power, then Ford must be ok with the stock 3v bottom end handling 550hp.......WTF? is this 450RWHP cap in our minds?

The new 3v 4.6's are stronger than the 2v's. They can take more abuse. The safe hp mark for the 2v's is around 450 hp. The safe mark for the 3v is more like 500+.

Default RE: whipple question..........WTF?

my opinion is the people who are grenading engines at and below 425rwhp are cause by detonation. this has nothing to do with torque or hp and everything to do with air temp, tune, and amount of boost.

chevykiller ran 500hp for over a year with not probs

keep your boost low, get an efficient intercooler, and a conservative tune and you should be able to run 450 with little or no problems.

i cant wait till the whipple s/c ships, it seems that it should be the best on the market, but only time will tell.
