Barrett Jackson auctioned the rights to be the FIRST to get an order in for the GT500 for $66,000.

27 bids and the price is up to $14,999? Someone is going to the cleaners on this one. I can't remember what the highest price was on the GT over MSRP when they came out.

i dunno man, if i had the money id GO FOR IT. if your buying a GT500, you shouldnt be concerned about price; its more of a priveledge to own one of these beasts. if your buying one, your probably not gonna use it as your daily driver, your not going to mod it, and you (I HOPE) want it because you know the history of the Shelby line, and you can appreciate the car for what it really is. if your some shmuck who just wants this car because its fast, go buy an evo or something, and leave the real musclecars for those who can appreciate it.


if i had the money, id definetly pay 15k over MSRP, as opposed to getting a corvette or something of a similar price. you can secure yourself a piece of musclecar history for 15K. if i had the money, which i dont, and probably never will, i would so go for it.



i believe it was $660,000.

15k over sticker isnt much for a limited production car. i remember when 05 GT's where like 10 grand over sticker, and nobody said anything.

did you guys catch that barret Jackson Auction where the GT (003 car) went for $550,000 US dollars + the guarantee to get 1 of the first 50 GT500's at MSRP..

When Shelby came out and started talking about the GT bidding went nuts, then that other guy with the Ford jacket said "anyone who buys this GT gets a guaranteed spot to get 1 of the first 50 GT500's, they'll have to buy it, of course" once he said that the bidding went nuclear

No No it was 660,000.00 Plus a 48,000.00 Transaction fee. This will be for the first one built and Carrol Shelby along with one of the Ford Brother will sign the cars visor.
