WHITE LETTER TIRES

RE: WHITE LETTER TIRES
You may not be able to find many, if any, tires for 17+ rims that will offer white lettering. I know you can get them for 16's and lower (see above mustang pics)......but lower profile tires are another matter.

Now that looks retro. When I wear out my stock tires I'm also going to look into the letter tires.

They are available for the V6's with 16" wheels

I wish they made Firehawks in white letter for our cars.

I think they look good! More racey..

I've been wornding if this looks good on an '05 myself. Tires are expensive, i'll wait until someone else tries them out.
I also think the WL looks extra clean on black (or darker) rims.

NASCAR tires don't look good on our retro mustangs.

Firebone makes the INDY500 in white letters, lol. Take your pick, INDY or NASCAR

RE: WHITE LETTER TIRES
Personally, I never liked the WL look--on anything, race oriented or otherwise.
But, that doesn't stop me from trying to help a brother out. I say you should give the rubber paint a try. Sounds cheaper than getting entirely new tires, and if it's not to your liking I bet you could shave it off with a flat razor w/o losing any significant rubber. If you applied it with a small roller or something that evenely distributes it (a brush here worries me), I bet it comes out looking very professional. And touch ups wouldn't be hard. Mabye a sponge technique could also work (dense closed-cell foam)?
Good luck! Better your car than mine! (I really don't care for the WL look...did I mention that?)
Best,

RE: WHITE LETTER TIRES
Yeah, I don't doubt that at all. But I think technique here is going to mean everything.
Do you know how that other guy applied the paint? I mean, I can paint a car with spray paint, we know it'll come out like crap, but that doesn't mean "paint" is a bad idea for cars. How you apply the stuff will make a big difference, and I mainly suggested it because it would be cheap and easy just to see how he likes the basic look (which was an initial concern).
