You give fairlane the materials and it's only a matter of time.....
On another note.........and not to rain on anyone's parade or anything........but does anyone realize that the Shelby frontend is more than just a grill and front facia? Look at the hood guys......you'll be needing one of those too.[:@]

Sure, hey I still have my chemistry set when I was 7 (lol);
Put bumper/CDC-CS (in grey primer) on tonight. Love the look; (no grill hehehehe) I'll take a few pics tomorrow. Will look sweet all yellow and then into the orange and flames; gonna have to catch up with you guys on some HP though.... (lol)

I know it will require a hood as well. Which is why I'm going to wait for the Aftermarket to catch up with the Shelby. I want a front fascia/hood anyway, so why not just wait and buy what I want? So far there are no hoods out there that interest me, minus I guess Steeda's cowl induction. Though the Shelby, with that slight raise in the middle due to the larger grille just looks awesome, so that's the look I want with some minor differences.

So you want the Shelby nose but with fogs and pony? I honestly can't imagine any co making this grill because how many shelby front ends will be looking for fogs and pony. The good thing is you pull this off and noone will have the same thing or be able to simply order it. This is one reason I'm looking to do an OEM GT grill w/o fogs and w/o pony. At cruise nights and such, folks will be saying "Where did he get that grill?" That's the fun of "one off" mods. ...if it can be done then I don't really want a co to make it... ...course would save me some time and maybe a headache or two; but I just don't see it happening for what either of us are looking for. I need to fool araound some with with properties of the plastic they are using and then I should be in a position to even fab in a Chevy bow tie. (lol) ...sorry to scare you on that one. ...almost made me sick typing that!!! ...Jim

I agree. That is certainly something I want to achieve. Having something no one else has that is. Though I'm no good with fabrication, especially plastic! It would be nice though if I could find a good shop that can make it look OE. Also, how can I fill in the pre-existing holes in the bumper from their fog lights? It's not exactly fiberglass so you can't patch, grind, and paint it.

Sorry I missed that. Well, I don't have plans to do anything with the bumper but from doing a little bit of drilling and cutting for my CD agressive spoiler it is a form of plastic. If PVC cement has a melting affect on it (need to experiment) then you simply need to grab a doner peice out of a 05-06 front or rear bumper in the junk yard; If PVC cement doesn't have a melting affect on it; I'm would likely end up cutting the piece slightly oversize and from the back, using a flat tip on a soldering pencil; gradulally melt around the perimeter (wearing leather gloves) pushing in from the front until it just about flush (very slightly raised here and there is ok; you'll sand off excess. I would probably with the tip flat on the outer seam, go around melting that joint in, mainting a relatively smooth surface, Can go over the back perimeter surface one more time to smooth that area which will be a bit ragged from initial "melting" (melt in extra material to fill as necessary). Body shop will finish outer area to perfection for ya. Realy not so bad; if PVC cement is agressive enough on this material there is no need to do any melting. If PVC works I would suggest a slightly larger backing piece applied over the plug as well. One of these methods will work; key is you need to use compatible materials thats all. No one will duplicate this mod, man!!!!

That would be very tricky for a novice. Also, how exactly would you mount the fog lamps into the grille and make it look OE? I Imagine all that melting of plastic to plastic would become pretty messy, though of course you can sand it all down... but what do you think that will do for high speeds and such? Would hate to have a fog light sucked into my engine bay... lol.
