How About This Grille Option...

Thinking of doing this for myself so I made a chop of it, and decided to use the "media kit" photos I downloaded and sample it for the other paint colors. I had to futz the blues, tungsten and yellow 'cos I didn't have pics of them, so they may be off a little. If your color isn't shown, you picked the wrong color car. :p

The grille is the Cervini billet painted flat black. A black texture paint might work as well to simulate molded plastic.

Good idea grasshopper. I've heard a few ppl around here wanting to eliminate the foglamps in the grill.....and this gives a really good idea of what a fog-delete grill would look like, in black of course.:D Good work, thanks.

There are a ton of GT owners on TMS that would be slobbering all over that grill ( if their web site would ever come back up! )

I would love a grille like that with the fog lights hidden behind the grille.

The slats in their grill are quite close; not sure what light you'd get out the fogs behind it. I would just lose the weight and add them to the OE parts bin (lol). Seriously, TB147 brought up this grill as a possible solution to us who want no fogs and pony. I would already have it but it isn't cheap and would require powdercoating. ...at least for me; I can't have any chipping going on with paint on these slats. Also with powder coating you can have a satin finish and it will be as hard as nails. ...we're talking some pretty good money here though. ...but maybe that doesn't matter any more (lol). I need to ask about powdercoating an item like this in billet. I do love the look. ..oh no emblem for me, you can have mine.

Powdercoating is on my list of considerations as well. The cost is the least attractive aspect of the whole thing, but I don't feel like waiting 3 years til someone makes a cheaper option. Cervini has the market cornered right now.

This is my solution if the lack of foglights proves to be problematic...

This particular lamp is a PIAA 2100 which comes in a white or yellow fog, or a white driving lamp. Should be easy enough to fold an origami bracket out of sheet aluminum and just Liquid Nail it to the lower grill from the back and let it poke through a cutout.
