Default Would you be upset if this happened to you?

So I took the car back to the dealer on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. to get the "We Owe" items taken care of - The bumper needed to be fixed, and there were a couple of scraches to take care of, as well as get the Lowjack installed. I wanted to get it in so the dealer couldn't say that I had caused the damage (I've had the car 3 weeks at this point)... So when I dropped it off, I made it clear - "I want the car back Thursday afternoon (5:00 pm)" If I have to bring it back again, fine, but I need it back Thursday afternoon. Figuring they could get the lojak installed, maybe get the scratches painted and the bumper would have to be ordered - so they could give me the car back and I could bring it back next week for the bumper. They said "No Problem it should be ready Thursday afternoon"

I just got off the phone with them and they just informed me they don't think it will be done, they are going to call the body shop and see what's the timeline....... I'm really tempted to really rip into them, but figured I would wait until they called and said for certain it wouldn't be ready.

What do you guys think?

Rick

I'd cut them some slack for now. They may still get everything except the bumper done by 5pm tonight.

If they agreed to have it back to you by Thursday, and they didn't follow through, you can tell them you'll need a loaner.

+1. if they're reputable they'll apologize and offer a loaner. make sure its a GT loaner HAHA jk lol.

same thing happened to me, they had to detail it, put tints on, and do an oil change. couldn't get it done in time, so they gave me a loaner. an 05 V6 vert. not bad hahaha.

Just got off the phone... The car is supposed to be ready tonight, minus the door handle issue because they had to order that in, and won't get the car back from the body shop in time. No biggie.....

Of course we will see how well they fixed the bumper.... It had a crack in it, so I figure they would have to replace the cover - I'd be suprised if that was a stocked part..

I'll let you know how it goes... The wife will be happy, she wanted to use the car tommorrow... Of course it's going to be raining, so no top down action for her.. hahaha.

Well, they got the door handle fixed because the body shop was done earlier than they expected.

However the scratch in the quarter panel isn't blended in with the rest of the paint, it's subtle but definatly noticible.. [:@]... So it will go back to the body shop next week.

Sorry man, what a disaster. You need a new bumper (entitled to one); you can look behind it where the crack was to see if there is evidence of a repair. One tap or severe temp changes it's likely it will crack again. It it wasn't under warranty one could heat weld the crack but not on a new car.
