Default Axleback sounds awesome but lost a few hp

So I finally get my mac axleback mufflers put them on in one hour and start that bitch up and she sounds mean as f*c!, so I am fired up about the new kickass sound my car has, but I kinda feel a slight performance loss. I have heard that the mustangs like a little backpressure but I think I will go ahead and deal with the hp loss because I really like the new deep rumble my macs make, reminds me of my old lt1 z28! Is it just me or have some of you experienced the same thing???

It could be an impression more than reality but that's exactly how I felt after installing MAC's on my '06. It just felt a little off. This was prior to my CAI install, after the install it felt much stronger and made power to 6k easily where before it fell off at 5800.

I doubt you've lost anything, if anything you've gained a bit.

It's mental. You now hear more noise at less RPM so you think it isn't pulling as strong cause your used to being pushed back in the seat by the time it gets loud. I felt the same way when I had my exhaust done. Drive it a while and you'll get used to it.

You probably lost a few horses. So what??? The sound is worth the cost!
Removal of baffled mufflers on most engines will reduce powere due to backpressure loss.

+1 A a while back someone posted here that he dyno after the install and got 4 horses. I felt the same at first to but like the ghost said and what I said a while back makes sense. You know you hear all this music and your not going anywhere who less you kick it.
