RE: help wanted
Follow the manual and join a detailing website to learn how to keep it nice looking.
Most people will tell you to do the first oil change after 1000 miles or so (the owners manual doesn't say to), this can be debated, but it's easy enough to do. Some people argue to break it in like you stole it, some say go easy on it for the first few thousand, some say drive it like you would if it was already broken in, the only definite thing to do is DONT keep the RPM's constant for the first couple of thousand, as in no 6 hour road trips with the cruise control on the whole time. Have fun with it, and welcome! |
RE: help wanted
Don't keep a constant RPM is what was meant. Vary them..

RE: help wanted
Follow the owner's manual and vary your speed through the whole trip...
Better to pay now than PAY LATER!!!... Enjoy it... Dave P.S. Take it to the dealer for the first oil change... Never go to a Jiffy Lube or any of the quick oil change shops because the horror stories about these places could fill a book... Then -- as you become more familiar with your car, you can change the oil yourself... (provided you have the ramps, oil drain pan, the correct tools and the proper oil filter wrench) (then what do you do with the old oil???) (how much oil should you put in???) (etc, etc, etc) Take it to the dealer, it's much easier... |
