I always found that cheezy.
Officially it's 8 "speakers" because the upper door speakers are a component plate set-up (mid and tweeter seperated). So really, you have 6 speaker locations (2 upper door, 2 door subs, and 2 in the rear deck), with two doors being split for a "total" of 8.

BTW, the openings for the speakers (not subs) all accomodate 6x8" speakers (the Shaker component plate is mounted to an adapter to fit the size).
