Sonic - What do you mean your calipers are discolored? Aluminum oxidizes also.
I started another thread about my brake calipers. The front calipers were nice aluminum like colored until two days ago. Now just the center part of the caliper (as you look through the wheel) the part that looks more like a C and holds the pad to the rotor, has turned this dull looking off white color with darker spots here and there, and the surface feels different. When I noticed it it freaked me out. It is really noticable. I'll have to post a picture this evening. I hear two other forum members with this strange occurance on the front calipers too.
The front only thing also boggles my mind.
I wonder if Ford considers this "normal". That would suck. We shouldn't have to paint calipers because of poor workmanship or paint/heat problems. Geez.[:@]
On my CTS-V with clearly visible 14 inch rotors I can spray em with a hose and watch them turn orange before my eyes. I am using it to teach my 8 year old about oxidation.
