Default Fried my Diff at he Strip (Video)

This is how your limited slip differential will respond after only 5 runs with a Kenne Bell Supercharger and a set of ET Streets. The only indication of a problem that I could tell was that there was only smoke coming from one side of the car. My daughter showed me the video after the run which showed everything. A stock diff and 400+ lbs of torque=a new upgraded rear end. The cool thing is that I still smoked the built Dodge Dart I ran against.

Didn't realize the diff was that weak.

Was running 10 psi with the Shootout tune. It may have been like that for awhile. Didn't even know till the video.

I will be changing the gears next week(3.73's). Wasn't planning on the diff but sh*t happens. Anyone have any suggestions for a gear and diff setup? The guy that is going to do the work suggested an Auburn Pro setup. Haven't looked into it yet so I don't know anything about it. Like I said, wasn't looking at doing a diff at this point.

I'll be on the look out for info on that. I am running the same set up as with 3.73's at 8psi. I have major concerns about going further due to the torque. Worried about the tranny and the rear end. I'll keep looking and will talk to my guy at Sutton on monday. I'll pm you if I can find any good info.

I think what killed mine was the setup I use when I go to the strip; slicks, 10psi pulley and the race tune. This is by far the most strain that I put the entire car through. I saw what the diff looked like when I got my 4.10's put in so I'm actually pretty suprised that its last as long as it has, the thing looks very weak. I've raced it 48 times at the strip but only the last 9 times with the slicks which probably put her over the edge. I looked up some info on the Auburn Gear Pro Series and they appear to have a good product. According to their testing (who knows who did it), they show the diff being able to handle about 475lbs of torque. I found them for $416.61. I attached the pdf that they have on their site. damn! I thought there was something wrong when I saw you trying to do a burnout and the left rear tire wouldn't spin! Hopefully you'll have her running (better than before) soon. I've always liked your car, love those wheels!

Sidmanic How is your auto holding up? I am curious if you have done anything or noticed any negative impacts to your tranny. I am still waitiing for it to fall out on the ground.
