It's a two year car from what I have been told. Might want to double check before you put your money down on the 09' model.

HAWGMAN..... I'm with you.... I get really fired up when I see that car, but Im ponied up last October at 2 dealers and
now they both don't seem to be able to come thru....Ford spends alot announcing this car , but no one can get one, and it's not just the money ( I would gladly part with a bundle more than the sticker) its having connections with a dealership and one of them told me "were only getting two" and The owner is buying one.....the other is going to his cronie...

Would I like to have one? Of course! Am I all giddy over the release...not really. I know what my chances are of actually getting one. I put a $5k deposit check in with a dealer last July. It was returned to me in February. The reason was their allotment was spoken for with a "considerable" market value adjustment. And for those folks that are saying they will just wait a year or two then pick up a used one, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Absolutely agree...........good post !

One question, does this mean that the v6 and v8 models will go down in price when the GT500 goes on sale.

in the long run, yes. but until people can actually buy the gt500, much less for anywhere near msrp, there is potential for gt model to temporarily *increase* in value. there will be higher demand for mustangs in general because of interest brought about by tht gt500 for a while

I get the feeling the GT500 is going to be a limited edition CONCEPT car. Hype the crap out of it, make a few for the chosen few to buy and squirrel away in their collectors garage. All we'll be left with is a small pool of drool around our feet and a [sm=wtf.gif] just happened look on our faces.

The last I heard was that after the two year run of the GT500 they were going to put out a BOSS 330: That is supposed to be a 5.4L Naturally Aspirated as the next big specialty mustang. If they really took there time and made it have greater performance by lightening it at the factory by s few hundred pounds, it might be the best one to have anyway. I would rather have close to 400HP NA and weigh 500lbs. less than have that 500HP 4000lb. GT500 Pig.

Just might be the right one to get next. But I am also with the group of you that say, you might as well stop saying what if? And just say, what mod do I do next. I know for sure, outside of the fact that it would be a Shelby, most of us could build a much faster and better handling car with what we already have in our garages and still have enough to repaint the house, build a deck and pick up a couple of nice dirtbikes for the weekends.

The heck with a used one, this car will be made next year as well as the year after. I plan on trying to get one in 08 or 09 if they make enough of them.
If they make it for more than one year, I'm getting one somehow.
