WOW!!! I guess we have touched on something.Orion_240 hit it right on the head......I fill at a mobil station.I have been going there for years.I spoke with a long time friend who has been a service advisor at a local ford dealer, and was told thatThey have had a few complaints. They have swaped out the tanks and the problem seems to go away, but they dont know why???When I was done at work today I put mine on the hoist and took a look.the filler tube comes down off the 1/4 panel, under the frame rail, then makes a alight up hill....thats right UP then down to the tank.I also noticed that it looks like someone has tried to adjust this.all the vebts run back to the Laek Detection Pump(LDP).On most of the vehicles I have seen there is sometimes a vent tube that runs paralle to the filler tube and enty's back into the filler tube just below the pump nozzle opening.

Exactly! Not sure why Ford chose to go under the frame area instead of through it which to me seems like a better idea and then it would be more of a straight shot to the tank. It alos does not help to have the filler tube only 1/2" ID That is way to small.

I actually saw an article in today's "Stars and Stripes" it is happening to Musangs in Europe.

I personally have not had the problem but it seems a few people have.

Mine has done this at a select few gas stations in my area. So I don't go to them. It's annoying yes, and I will blame the car. The four other cars I've taken to those same gas stations all worked, the Mustang doesn't.

My dealer actually had this problem when he filled my car right after I bought it. Gas down the side of the car. He apologized profusely and cleaned it up. Haven't bought gas since then, but I now know to be careful!

Well i went to the same station as last time yet tried a differant pump. Held the pump nozzle at the 3 O Clock position and only pumped it at about half speed and the tank filled completely the first time.

I also have a tank problem on my 2006 GT. It sometimes fills all the way to full and other times its gets less than half a tank. The dealers says the ford engineers are looking into this issue and it's not a know problem with the 2006 GT's.
I think we need to get togeather and take some legal action.
Let me know who's down..
Thanks,
