Plus you will run into "spring coil" if you due that...
spring coil is where the springs will bottom out and touch when they are not meant to due so..
and like 1QuickShortBus said.. the after marker ones are very inexpensive

I cut my springs last summer and haven't had a problem. I cut 1.5 coils from the back and 1 from the front and it sits very nice. Ride quality is the same as aftermarket springs.

you CAN cut them as long as you don't use a torch but I wouldn't do it personally because aftermarket springs are so cheap. I can't see buying a brand new car like this and cutting the springs.

I don't know where you guys got your springs, but it adds up and becomes very expensive: $200-$250 for set of springs, $100-$150 for adjustable pan hard bar, If I get the front springs put on I need to pay for installation and a front end alignment. So we're talkin about 500 for springs and I cant afford that right now.

If you're going to modify the handling on the car, take the time and money to do it right. Trying to cut corners (no pun intended) can put your car, and your safety, at risk.

i can understand the desire to shortcut, but in this case, i believe its a bad idea. true, aftermarket springs will cost u more (exactly how much i don't know) but if you want to do it right, thats the way to go. cutting your springs is akin to making a CAI out of tubing. while a tempting way to save money, i would never do it myself, not only have i heard horror stories; but my OCD would never leave me alone. i would keep worrying if i did it right, and eventually go insane.
