Default Just installed 93 oct base tune, car need to re-learn?

I just upgraded from 87 tune to the 93 oct tune on my otherwise stock 06 Mustang GT. I really didint notice a difference in power. Does the ecu need to learn new parameters? I had a Subaru WRX STi I installed new software in to its ecu and it took a good 3 days of ecu learning before the car was noticeably faster.

Yeah, I ran it down to 18 miles left of 87 0ct in it, filled it to the brim with 93 oct, swapped in the 93 oct map, and ran it 5 miles to get the 93 oct in to it. It didnt knock or anything at all. It just didnt feel any faster.

Previous to this, were you running an 87 Octane tune? Or were you completely stock on your ECU?

I was told to do a 93 tune first and not to do a 87tune and then upgrade. I believe so you can see the 'big" diffrence at once. The diffrence between the 2 might be more in times and numbers and not SOP. My guess and why I'm STILL waiting to put my tune in. Had a full tank when I got the SCT and with the rain and being busy, blah,, blah,,, busy, busy... stuck here at work [:@]

I was running the 87 oct tune, which, btw, didnt seem that much over the stock tune.

I think this might be the crux of it. If the only thing that is changed is the octane and you have already put in the tune, (which is more agressive than stock, but not unsafe at all), then I imagine the difference will be pretty slight.

What you need to put in is a CAI and then a tune... then you will truly notice a different... it's like night and day. Getting a tuner just to put in a 93 tune and nothing else... sorta a waste of money, IMHO...

Where did you get this tune? Is it w/ a Predator or SCT? Are you Auto or manual? Do you have a CAI?
These may be important

Its an XCal 2, with a basic off the shelf SCT Tune. No CAI, and its a stick.

Yeah, I'd suggest getting a CAI and tune from someone like Brenspeed. He could E.mail you his tune since you already have the SCT. You should notice a difference immediately! Most people w/ the C&L love it. I know it really woke up my car.
