Proper Tire Height
What should the proper tire height be with 19" rims? 40 or 45? strictly preference?

lol 40 and 45 is the aspect ratio of the width, what width are you planning on running? u need to stick as close to 27" OD as possible to maintain speedo calibration and proper fitment

I was under the impression that (245/40/19) 40 was the height of the sidewall on the tire. which is correct 40 or 45?

40/45 is the percentage of the sidewall height to tread width.
Go
here and plug in your OEM size and your rpoposed size, and you can work out an alternate fitment that retains the stock O.D.

right..aspect ratio= percentage of the width. If you are using 245's u can go woth a 40 series. You can also go with a 255/40-19
