INSTALLED BREENSPEED SCT TUNER
 

To anybody with a sluggish throttle,soft shifts,irritating rev limiter Breenspeed is the SH#T. I can barely touch the gas pedal without spinning the tires.The shifting is incredible.1 2 3 scratches and yes thats with a automatic.The car is running so much better it's hard to believe it's my car.Brent answered all questions and was polite.(not like some mechanics)Highly recommend Breenspeed to anybody driving a 05 or 06 GT.Less than 10 minutes to install.Came with 3 custom tunes. 1st for 89 octane,2nd for 93 octane,3rd for 93 octane running 100 shot NOS.

What I would like to know is if the tune helps with the "double downshift" issue with my automatic. When I floor it to pass or go into the next lane fast I sometimes have to stop because it just doesn't downshift properly. I have read about this on some other threads and I hear the tune helps with throttle lag but does it help this?

I'm driving an '05 v6 auto vert (same windveil blue) with a C&L and 93 tune from Fred at Evo...
Kickdown is awesome for passing and accelerating. Tach will run all the way up before shifting and throttle lag is non-existent...
Highly recommended, it can only get better with a GT!

I just order the tuner and c&l intake. Thanks for the post I feel a lot better after spending $675

I haven't gotten a tune from Brent but I have ordered a few parts off his website....he is really good and easy to work with...I highly recommend him

when you order the SCT from him, does it come with his custom tunes, or do you have to pay extra to get it?

I also use the Brenspeed tune. And no it does not stop the double downshift (if you manually disengage OD it will be a much quicker shift anyhow). However if you go with the excalibrator you have the ability to adjust just about every tranny function. I have been able to get mine to an acceptable level. But under extreme situations it still does it. And I agree, Brents service at Brenspeed has been second to none.

Thanks for that info Ghost, I guess that is something I will just have to live with.

I still think a tune would do me good though.
