I went down to my local Ford dealer today, to get some warrenty work done on by 06 v6, anf they had 2 Saleen 281s[sm=badbadbad.gif] on the show room floor!! I was able to sit in one and row the lever a but and was shocked at how short the throws were and how good it felt. Also the clutch pedal went in so easy and you could feel where it was dis/reengaging i loved it[sm=drooldude.gif].

Now the problem I WANT ONE!! I cant afford the 281 ([:@]56K) but would like to know if the short shifter they install on the 281 is the same one they sell for $50 bucks on there website?? anyone have any idea I checked the window sticker but all it said was "reduced throw shifter"

As far as i know yes its the same. All it is, is an adapter that uses the stock shifter.

Great mod for the price, I really like mine.....but it doesn't help the shift to third issue....

I didn't miss 3rd often at all, but the adapter has completely eliminated the "problem" for me.

Can you post a pic of the shifter or provide a link? I've probably seen it but I don't recall what it looks like.

I ordered mine from Saleen... the price went up a couple of weeks after I bought mine also...

i was desperate for a short throw shifter but wanted to wait till the MGW comes out. i bought the saleen for a temporary fix and i love it!
