Auto Enginuity OBDII Scanner (Can't Connect)

AE OBDII Scan Tool won't connec t to my 06 GT's computer. Am I missing something, or has the connector or interface changed since 2004? Got a CEL I need to check out.

Found this problem as well...

The old ODB II connector that I bought back in 2002 only has a six pin interface. The new CAN ODBII interface requires eight. It's a $50 upgrade from the manuf.

Yea.. I was about to tell you that your Stang uses CAN, not just the standard OBDII... but you caught it before I did.

Thanks Prof. I searched all over the forums and couldn't really find a whole lot about the new interface and how it works. I found lists of the associated codes, but nothing really about the different handheld and software based scanners and how they work. This might be a good topic for some expert dicsussion.
