CEL and Limp Home Mode on the GT

CEL and Limp Home Mode on the GT
Okay, I'm stumped and looking for some ideas.
Today I took the throttle body off my 4.6 and removed the TPS and the throttle actuator. I painted[sm=bangbang.gif]; yes painted, the outside of the throttle body and the outside body of the throttle actuator because I thought they looked pretty hokey sitting up there on top in their natural colors. I know, it sounds **** as hell, but I'm kind of a neat freak about my engine. Everything important was masked off or removed, so no paint or primer got anywhere they shouldn't have.
Anyway, after reassembling everything, I get a CEL on my first start. No big deal I think, so I drove the car and it performed normally with good throttle response and all the gauges were in the normal operating areas. However, I tried my OBDII scan tool to clear the CEL code and it would not connect to the car (there's another post regarding this subject), so I disconnect the battery for about 20 mins. Now, with everything hooked back up, I'm getting the CEL and the dreaded wrench light indicating the car is in limp-home mode. I can't scan for codes, and can't clear the lights. I also can't get more than about 1K RPM out of her in this mode.
Any experts out there wanna give this one a try?

RE: CEL and Limp Home Mode on the GT
Found the problem. Just for everyone's information, the instructions for changing out the throttle body at the top of this forum helped tremendously. I found the Throttle Actuator spring did not have the required tension on it and it was causing a P2111 and P2104 code. Reset the spring as per the instructions and voila!!
Now I can breathe again...

I have a plenum cover on the way to complement the valve cover and throttle body paint I did. It's simple, black-on-black, but it really dresses up the engine compartment. If I had one nit to pick about my new ride it was that the engine bay needed some serious fixin' up. I'll post picks later today.
Thanks for the interest.
