Default Are the GTO wars over?

It's been a while since I've heard any one on this forum talk about the GTOs. I say this because there was alot of talk when the Mustang GT's and the GTOs came out and to be honest I just don't see them on the street anymore. Does this hold true in your area? Perhaps I just have to wait for the Challenger to hit the streets, but I have to admit, if I don't supercharge my car I may not be able to take on a Challenger!

The new Challenger is going to be something to reckon with, hopefully Ford answers with a Boss Mustang when the new Benz comes out, errrr I mean Chrysler!

Yup, that's why I'm Supercharging my 06GT. I test drove a GTO and loved the engine (400hp), power, and suspension but the looks killed it for me. Sooooooooo I decided I wanted that kind of power so I'm getting a Paxton Novi 2200 which will give me an additional 70hp over the GTO . I just hope I can keep up with a Challenger. On the other hand by the time the challenger comes out I may have a few more bolt on mods If my engine can handle a little more hp.

i wanna be able to truly compete with a GTO and not have a poweradder. FULL BOLT ONS, ported heads, stage 2 cams...........mmmmmm 390 or so RWHP

i rode in an 05 GTO..........that thing is just ****ing sick........pulls HARD like a mother****er.

o BTW with 470 hp you'll PWN a challenger. at least i'd hope so.

I see maybe one GTO a month around here and non of them has actually messed with me. Can't say there's really a "war", they're like endangered species!
We have Sidewayz here with a GTO, but he's cool.

Nice bolt-on's and gears guys. I would say that would be a good race with the GTO. I see that the 1/4 mile time for the GTO is 13.0 and the 0 to 60 is 4.8 and the latest commercial for the GT said the 0 to 60 is 4.8 so I guess the GTO has more top end but with a Centri. type SC, I will get him for sure. Unfortuantly, the track is 2.5 hrs away from my home so I will maybe catch one getting on the FWY when it's not crowded[sm=badbadbad.gif]

How fast would the top Charger (6.1) run? high 12's I'm guessing?

I think the counterpart to the Mustang GT would be the 5.7 Hemi Challenger RT.........which I would venture to guess would be making 340-350bhp. The 6.1 SRT Challenger would probably be making 425-435bhp.....but you're gonna be less likely to come across one. I believe the Challenger's will come in a little heavier than their Mustang counterparts........so I say getting your crank hp rating up to within 15-20 of any of the Challengers should make for a driver's race.
