RE: Shaker 500 CD Player
Mine has a couple of times. If ya complain they should order you a new radio if it under your warranty. Some times the factory units get sensitive to "burned C.D's"Dont put the stick on labels on. they cause the C.D to get stuck in the player.

RE: Shaker 500 CD Player
This is really an old problem in terms of discussion. The Shaker 500 has a history of problems and there are actually TSB's on it. There is a 2nd generation Shaker 500 that dealers have installed on early 2005 Models for example as replacements. My GT Premium came off the line in Noveber 2004. The Shaker 500 never really worked well, but I waited for over a year to see what would happen and the first time I took it in teh delaer replaced it with a 2nd generation unit. No problems after that.
The other thing to bear in mind is that there are hundreds of CD and MP3 buners out there and some are better than others. So from time to time I think it is only reasonable to expect some finicky behavior on CD's you burn yourself, that said I would expect the unit to work well with commercial CD's. Anyway every Mustang forum has stories about the legendary problems with the Shaker 500. If it really is a problem take it in and have the dealer diagnose it for you. |

Mine skips all the time, but I just stoped using it. I have an AUX input for my iPoD so I have forgotten what a CD is.
