Anyone notice a sort of wooshing/whistling type of noise in second gear only, when accelerating with an automatic? I don't hear it as it goes through any other gear. This is at part throttle acceleration.

Mine doesn't do it either. I would say though that I have seen a dramatic difference in the transmission at 4500 miles. When I first got it, at WOT it shifted quick adn smoth...no lag at all. But at slow speeds when it shifted it was slow and very laggy, like I had a standard and didn't know how shift very well. Now I notice the oposite. At slower speeds the shift is quich and without lag, at WOT there can be some shift lag. Could be just the car breaking in or it could be my imagination. But I have never been praised for my vivid imagination so....

Is it like a "wind" type of noise or a mechanical "gear" type, because it could just be the sound of your intake sucking in air, which is does in great volumes when you get on it. I could always hear this in my car but it became a lot more pronounced when I upgraded.

It's a mechanical noise of some type. I don't hear it at WOT probably because the exhaust and engine are loud. The weird thing is that it's only in second. It's not too loud, I only hear it when the stereo's off and things are quiet. Must be something in the transmission, I was just curious if it was normal. I have 3700 miles and it has done it from day 1.

Mine has a whine like a turbo zinging up sorta in 2nd. If that's what you mean. I have seen other posts that discribed the sound better tnan I am.

Do you have a CAI (cold air intake)??? as I noticed when I put on my CAI.. then I also heared a noise in second gear.. but I know it is from the CAI..
