i love the GT and would pick it over the STI. I test drove the 05 STI and it was very impressive performance wise. the looks just dont do it for me, awsome ride though and very very fun but not my cup of tea. I Also tested the new Evo 9 and wow...loved it as well, super fun and feels awsome, just sounds and looks like ****! I was really close to buying one though...the test drive almost sold me but i relized that because it was so but fugly...that i would get sick of it after a few weeks and get too bored with it.

But the Gt-- All around sexy. sounds better feels awsome and looks just beautiful. an easy pick over the two wicked fast imports.

But the STI stock vs GT stock in the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile... the STI wins no contest. same goes for EVO 9 vs GT. the numbers are there...they are faster stock vs stock.

Yeah, the scoop is not only functional, it is necesary. The WRX/STi use a TMIC (top mount intercooler) for the turbo and they need the airflow. A lot of folks who mod their Subby go with a FMIC (front mount) when they go to a bigger turbo, and those are the ones you will see without a scoop and an aftermarket hood.
