I almost bought a Supercharged Cobalt ($22k with my discount), then I figuired I could get a V6 Stang for the same price (and horsepower). Whew! Dodged that bullet.

Corvett = Sportscar
Mustang = Muscle car

Two completely different classes of automobile, not to mention the price difference.

Never argue with an idiot, he'll only drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.[sm=gears.gif]

I just sold my Vette yesterday. Gives me more leverage to ask the wife for mods for the mustang. I was tired of the 2 seater and the expensive parts.

I drove GM products almost exclusively for more years than I care to mention. I bought the 05 Mustang GT because it was the best bang for my buck. Ford did a great job with these cars. For similar money GM (or anyone else for that matter) has NOTHING that will compete. Not even close. I love my Mustang and won't even look at GM again.
Also the overall build quality of these cars is excellent. Fit and finish, design, ect. are all really amazing for what you’re paying.
As for comparing these cars against new Corvettes’, I should hope that for more than twice the money GM can build a better car. As others have said, a Mustang and a Corvette are a completely different class of car and only an idiot would try to compare them.
I would also like to add that I feel better supporting the north American economy by purchasing American products. As long as they (Ford) can keep building vehicles that represent such good value I will continue to support them.

Just imagine what the mustang would do for 30,000+ more bucks! end of story!
Or what you could do with an Extra 2 seats and 30,000+
