It happens to me from time to time. But now, I closed the door by the window. No shock.
Thats how I do it... but I do it that way to minimize fingers smugdes on the paint...

I also like to keep fingers smudges off the paint also, but the other day I forgot myself and touch the door and BOOM....I got shocked.
You can say that me and my Stang has sparks between us.

Be careful doing that, I learend from my frameless Camaro windows that over time the windows get loose from using them to close the doors.
And I get schocked every bleepin time I get out.

I do have leather seats and I still get shocked.
It probably the carpet floor mats.

I could be wrong but I always thought the static build up
is because of your shoes rubbing on the carpet. I had
a 97 Ranger that was really bad and I just got used to
using my arm when closing the door lol
shoes in carpet or butt accross the seat during low humidity!! Zzzzzzaaaaap!

Me = I have leather and no shockies for me so far.

Rubber Gloves. J/K. Stay in contact with the metal frame of the car until your foot hits the pevement. That should discharge you.

Clearly you have angered the Mustang gods. You must repent for whatever sins you have commited against the car, and it will stop shocking you.

Next time use the good wax.

The only vehicle I ever had this problem in was my Focus.
