1/4 Times for bone stock auto GT?

RE: 1/4 Times for bone stock auto GT?
Kinda like the mid 80's, all I heard about was bone stock GT's running mid to low 14's. When I got to the track I saw a lot of low 15's. and very few high 14's.
I can believe these new GT's can run sub 14 pretty easily, because my 94 Bone stock auto Z28 ran a best of 13.98 with only 275 HP and 3.23 gears.
But 13.20's run just a tune and exhaust, it have to be a helluva tune.

My first time ever at the track I ran a 13.90 bone stock with a 60' of 2.08. I will be going back this thursday now that I just got my Cnl cai and X-Cal tuner from Fred so I'll see what type of difference it makes.

mauiboy, you guys are at approx. 2200 feet above sea level with an avg temp around 75.
My best time on stk tires before the shocks and driveshaft (haven't tested the new set up yet, maybe wed.) were 13.1's. That's at close to sea level and at a temp of about 50.
I'm pretty sure that's the difference you're seeing.

13.23 my ***!!! Lets see your ticket along with the # on your car. I see more and more bulls**t
times posted lately. I run 2 to 3 times a month and I see alot of other 05'06's with your set up or CAI's and a custom tunes running 13.5 to 13.8 all day long, but the 13.5 guy had an excellent launch with decent traction on street tires. My co-worker has a 06' with a Vortech (noncooled)
running 13.0 - 13.2 @106-108mph with stock tires consistantly, if he got some slicks he should be in the 12.6 to 12.8 range. I'm just expressing my opinion but alot of people tend to exagerate there times...
Hell, what do I know, but i'm not seeing it a our track.

The second set of slips are from my first time at the track, with just the intake and tune, half tank of gas and stock tire pressure.
I'll be at the track again next month, already bought two M/T Street radials and two bullit wheels for the M/Ts, I'll make sure to let you know when, in case you want to make the trip and inspect my car before and after every run.

Keep in mind that elevation/ambient temperature/humidity would also affect some of these 1/4 mile times.

Track conditions play a huge part. Use a drag racing adjustment tool and you will see just how much of a difference tempature, altitude, etc. can make. I ran 13.8 bone stock on a manual. First time drag racing ever. The evening was filled with a lot of 14.0-14.2 runs with my last 2 of 13.9 and then 13.8. If you want list the tempature, altitude, etc. that day and I will show you what you would of run where I am, sea level, etc.
