Some new goodies installed -3.73,LCAs, etc
[sm=massbounce.gif]
I had some new goodies installed this weekend:
3.73 gears β car feels much stronger. I have scratched my tires several times without trying to. Car actually seems much easier / more fun to drive. It gets up in gears and power faster and just feels more natural like it should.
T-lok β no real difference I can feel. The car does feel more stable at highway speeds, etc.
Hellwig anti-sway bar β BUY THIS THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simply awesome! Night and day difference! BUT THIS THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Car is MUCH more stable in curves, body roll is almost non-existent! Awesome.
SO tempted to call back and order the front one as well.
BMR lower control arms β very straight forward installation but the force of which bolts had to be removed, etc made the installation a pain! Two hours and they were done, but I ended up very sore from it β¦.I did not get an increase in road noise like several others have reported. As for benefits β car is firm on launch and the back end is no longer dipping down like it was before. Rear end feels a little bouncier, but it more of a firm sporty feeling instead of a loss of control. It may just be me, but it really feels like power gets to the wheels faster and acceleration seems more sure, etc.
I did a little test β I installed one side then drove the car a little bit. The side that hade the BMR control arm did indeed pull harder! You could feel it when you gave the car gas. The left side gripped faster and held better. Not a huge difference but it was there.
I got them on ebay for a good price and I am happy with them for the price.
I will post pictures tonight. They are on my fiancΓ©sβ digital camera now.

RE: Some new goodies installed -3.73,LCAs, etc
Dealer installed gears and t-lok - install cost me nothing, but I supplied the parts, but please dont ask me to explain that one
Sway bar was easy to install. Just take your time and make sure everything lines up nice, etc.
LCAs - just drove it again tonight and I am really likeing them now!!!!!!! Just driving around town makes the car feel better.
The sway bar and the LCAs make the car feel MUCH smaller and more nimble if that makes sense.
Car was horrible for about 10 miles with the gears. It did not know what gear it wanted to be in. Then these learning computer things kicked in! I know we bad mouth the drive by wire, etc, but it learned those gears and figured out the shift patterns very nicely! Now the speedometer is still of - Doug is taking care of that

Did you get the street version or the race version LCA'S? Using a impact makes all the difference when installing I think it took me 45 minutes for total install. I just took off the race version them damn things made so much noise they drove me crazy. Being that I cut off my stocked LCA'S so I would not have to fool with the brake lines I had to buy another set this time they were Motoblue LCA'S.

Ok thanks, i think I know what that is. but why would different ones make a difference? are they different material? different thickness? im not a suspension guruas you can tell so any info would be appreciated b/c i would consider doing this "mod" if others here thought it would be a noticeable difference. Also, the antisway bar, don't our GT's already have them? By adding it are you replacing the existing one or adding another?
How much do these parts cost?
Thank you!

The stock LCAs you can twist with your bare hands if you try! Not just that but their bushings are extremely flexible.
They basically push the tire into the ground. They are the links between the axle and the frame of your car.
Aftermarket ones are stiffer.
