Aaaahh, I got stopped at an inspection-sticker checkpoint today. It seems they are launching a coordinated attack.

Good snow tires and driving skills help ALOT.
Its not bad to drive after that. Its a lot of fun if you ask me

Welcome to the forums.

Up until the early 80's most everything was rear wheel drive, all sizes, all makes. Ppl made it around just fine.

Good snow tires, and some weight in the trunk, and the help of TC, you will do just fine.

Ask my "hero" Mike Hawke.

Hi and welcome!

Being I'm from Alaska and we have put over 12,000 miles on our 06 Convertible Mustang since October 2005. I think I have a pretty good idea what and how our stang does in the winter. Coldest temperature we drove in this winter was -32 F. (yes the top was up lol) but the heater wasn't on high full heat! I disagree with the comment about because the windows lower (< 1/2 inch) before you open the door and snow falls in. The fresh snow falling in on there seats when we open the doors is WAY worse on either our 05 Denali or our 03 Dodge Ram. Heck even the daughters 05 Cobalt is worse at letting snow fall on seat, so I don't know what type of vehical they would be comparing the mustang to that is better at this.

Get winter tires! We have Pirelli winter carving studded on all corners. Real good on ice /pretty good in snow. I never once had only one wheel spin. I think the biggest thing about driving a RWD car in the winter is knowing how to use momentom and not stopping where you shouldn't. Deepest fresh snow we drove in was about 8 inches and that was close to it's limits. Never once got the car stuck all winter and there were only a few times we elected to leave it parked because of snow conditions. But it was a light year for snowfall this past winter.

if you have experience driveing RWD in the snow/various other shotty conditions, i would say go for it. i had an 89 4banger 5 speed and that thing was all over in the rain (but only when i wanted it to be) and i spun 1 1/2 times on the parkway one night, in the snow, doing 35 and riding the clutch while everyone else was flying around me at 75 thru the snow in sports and luxary(sp) cars! in an older car that you wouldn't mind getting a dent or to in, it's fun as hell, a new car, i dunno. i would definatly get a 4wd or a fwd beater for the shotty weather, and the salt SUX!!!!!

+1 That pic is sweet, reminds me a little of one of the 1st commercials with the vert down and the frozen guy at the red light.

Alaska has yellow plates I believe. Not sure only seen one or two in my lifetime

LEJAY, Jet22, Stoenr,
Thanks! lol nope didn't slide into it! It was a beautiful April day about 8 miles from my house.
Alaska plates can be 3 different colors these days. They give us a chioce! (and I have no problem showing these as I now have custom plates or 'vanity plates' as some refer to them on now) I have made the statement a few times now, if this is what convertibles are like, I don't think I'll buy a non convertible 'play' car. They are just as quiet, warm and secure as a non-convertible. But OH so much moe fun with the top down. My cut off for droppin the trop was 15 degree and sun shining with no back seat passengers. Oh and NO highway driving, the windwill suck the heat out @ 75 mph in 15 degree weather. Here's another pic that day last month. Oh and we drove that whole day with the top down!
