CAI/Tune Install Easy?

CAI/Tune Install Easy?
Just how easy is it to install one of the JLT/C&L cold air intakes and Predator/SCT2 tunes?
I wouldn't consider myself a handy person. I have installed drop-in air filters, changed bulbs on my car, but have never done much else in the engine bay. What kind of tools do you need? Is it easy to screw up, and if so, what damage can I do to the engine? Is it easy to leave some kind of evidence for the dealer to know you have been screwing around?
I have been holding off on getting one of these due to warranty issues, but it sounds like if it is easy enough install, I could just replace it with the stock system, return the tune to stock (and I believe I have heard unplugging the battery will get rid of any evidence that I had it tuned), and the dealer will never know that I am enjoying the extra performance.
And it sounds like the tuners are as easy as plugging them in and programming in a tune, is that true?
EDIT: Should have posted this in the V8 forum, I have a GT, so I am particularly interested in installing this stuff on a V8.

I just put on a JLT CAI, then did a SCT-X2 tune.
I think the JLT tube could be 1/2" longer, maybe I got a short one. But it went together relatively quick. You will need a torx driver to get the MAF out of the stock intake.
SCT-X2 is silly fast, and even ask if there is a CAI is intalled, then lists several, including the JLT.
Fairly easy with minimal skills, and 30 minutes or so.

I have heard many people say it is easy to return the car to stock, by simply replacing the air intake and returning the tune to stock...I have also heard that a dealership can see if you modified the tune because there will be a record of it in the computer.
Is it true that driving for awhile after returning the tune to stock and/or disconnecting the battery will prevent the dealership from seeing that you changed the tune?

Everything is still speculation at this point, i havent heard of anyone confirming a way to stop the dealer from seeing what you did, or even at the same time someone "clearing" there ecu and having the dealer say they still found somthing.
