Default Yet Another Tire Fitment Question?

OK, I've done the search here and found no help and the prerequisit math and plan on installing meater tires on my 20" rims. Here is the $64,000 question, will the planned change in size cause the tires to rub the inner fender wells at either the front, or back (as outlined below)? I know that this is not the best performance choice but I'm going for show instead of GO. So, performance is not an issue, given the extra weight etc.

W+width H+height

Current setup, 20" rims unknown offset (wish I knew), front 245/35 (9.64W 26.75H), rear 275/35 (10.82W 27.57H)
Planned setup, same wheels, front 255/40 (10.03W +0.79" 28.03H +1.28"), rear 265/45 (10.43W +0.19" 29.38H +1.81")

My thinking is that I plan to retain the stock suspension and want to close the exposed gap between tire and fender. Given the Saleen suspension setup the increase in tire size should compensate with the drop with a different suspension drop. With the change, I'm really concerned with steering rub. If any one know if this size setup would work, I'd love to hear the feedback. Also, any other suggested sizes and make of tires would be great as well. My next step would be to do the measurements, but thought I'd save the time and ask of the experts here. I plan on using Toyo Proxy S/T rubber, I've had them in the past, and they were a great tire.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Default RE: Yet Another Tire Fitment Question?

We have a 06 Vert GT.
The stock tires were 235x55x17 (like 9.2Wx27.1H)
I installed 4 255x45x17 (10.1Wx26.1H) and liked the look but wanted a little (ha ha!) bit more so I'm going 20's.
Ok I just bought 255x35x20 (10.2Hx27W) for up front and 285x30x20 (11.5Wx26.7H) for the rear. I'm really hoping they fit! Now these tires are slightly more then 1/4" difference in diamiter. How will this affect either traction control or anti lock braking? I know a few of you guys (and gals) are running different size tire front and rear I just want to know how things are effected. It'll be a few days now because there seems to be some problem shipping the wheels. Sucks to have the tires sitting here and no wheels to put them on.
Oh and Beestang, That is a very nice looking car! 05SDI

Default RE: Yet Another Tire Fitment Question?

I've had my current setup installed now for a couple of months and have had no issues, ABS, braking, etc. They fit fine and are the same size setup on the Saleen's. The issue I have is the gap between the wheel/tire and the fender is pretty noticeable. I just can't seem to justify changing the suspension by lowering the car for the cost. I really won't benefit much from the added performance and just looking to close the gap. I absolutely love the look of my new wheels, but so far the expense is high enough just for the look. So, I was hoping to spend a little extra for the added height of more tire than spending (est. at $1500-$2000 installed) a lot more for a suspension upgrade. Based on my math, I figure with the extra 1-2 in tire height, I can save around $800 difference and get the same look I want through a tire change. Also, the tire wheel combo would look a little better with a little more rubber, IMO. So that is my logic! Again, I just want to make sure it won't cause any rubbing. Also, I have a tuner that can adjust for tire-plus changes.
