Can anyone link to me, or post for me, the exact tech specs for the Shaker 500? I'm looking to upgrade the speakers first and the Shaker last and need to know, for example, what model # the door 8"s are, etc.

[Edit]Clarification: I need to know things like: How many watts go to the 8"s, is the amp a preamp or somewhere else in the car, what is the rating for wattage on the stock speakers, what PIE adapter do I need to crossover the 8"s to a low frequency and amplify them (they will be replaced with new subs.)

Otherwise, I need to know... What are your thoughts on modding the door innards to provide a better air-setup for the 8"s? What is the deepest 8" I can fit in the door? What about modifying the speakers to recieve 6x9s instead of the stock 5x7s?

Finally, there seems to be a system in the 500s that cuts the bass signal out above a certain DB. Is there a way to disable this feature? I know it is intended to protect the stock speakers, but it aggravates me.

There was a post a few weeks ago about these questions - I seem to recall the ratings on the subs were like 60 watts @ 1.2 ohms or something really bizzare like that.

I'm at work right now, so I don't have time for a search... Do a search on Shaker 500 subs and see what that returns.
