Okay, just checked again and I get one solid brake light, and one sequencing on the side that the turn signal is engaged on. No sequencing at all if no signal is engaged. Did I misunderstand? Perhaps you didn't want the lights to sequence at all during braking, even with the signal engaged........? If so, my bad.

OK, thanks for looking.

That is really strange though.

When turning and braking, I want the one signal to keep sequencing and the other to just be solid as you described. Just braking, I want them to just be solid.

What webelectric is saying is that it will eventually become solid when you step on the brakes, but in reaching solid, the inners, then the middles, then the outside lamps sequentially turn on and stay lit until you let off the brake.

Anyone else have the webelectric harness that did not require the wiring mod to make them not burst when braking??

FYI
This is what webelectric e-mailed me.

"When you apply the brakes, the two inside lamps (one on each side of the
car) come on, then the two middle, then the two outer. They all stay on as
long as you keep your foot on the pedal. Release the pedal, and they all go
off at once. Many people actually like this "burst mode" because it
attracts attention at braking.

The "Plug-N-Play" harnesses do not come with the necessary parts to
disable
the brake light sequence. A wire has to be routed to the passenger kick
panel and 2 connections must be made there. By definition, this would not
be P-N-P. However, if you wish, I can include the parts at no cost. Just
remind me when you order.

The speed is not adjustable. There is no real flasher in the current model
mustang, and hence no way to change the timing of the on-off cycle. So, the
sequence has to be timed such that all three lamps come on before the off
cycle of the flashing.

If you have any other questions, just ask"

I have seen the light!!! (So to speak).

I had my kid press the brakes while I stood back and watched. You're 100% correct, the lights do come on in sequence the first time. Then they stay on solid till you release the brake.

I musta picked the wrong day to stop my medication..........

I have the WebElectric kit and they don't sequence while applying the brakes. I don't think any of them do. That wouldn't really make sense anyway since no one could tell which way you were signaling if they did. They do sequence when using the emergency flasher, but not the brakes.

The WebElectric's seem to sequence a little faster than I would have thought they should, but it sure looks nice compared to the dull blink-blink of the stock signals.

no no no. when you brake with sequential lights, it does the "sequence" one time from the inside to outside, then holds the lights on. all of them do it unless you get optional wiring setups. its really not that bad, but i can see how someone would not want it.

That's exactly what I observed and described in my last post.... Very subtle, but it's there. Not really an issue for me.

OK, now everything makes sense again. As far as medication is concerned. Dont worry, we will get you back off the mustang wagon in no time. We are all here for you. LOL

Anyway, I guess I am going to order the webelectric kit tonight and hopefully I wont mind the brake sequence feature. If not, its good to know that it can be defeated without too much hassle. As far as I can tell, it is the only brand that can have that feature defeated which is good to know.

Thanks guys,
Nick

This is where I put in a plug for the chase style taillights from www.meter4it.com

They are NOT plug and play, it requires you to do some wire work and tailight swapping, but it gives you the cool, (better than sequential, IMHO) "chase" system. It also leaves you the option of moving a small jumper and going back to stock look or sequential...

They do come on the same when brakeing though... inside out and then they all stay on.

Yeah the braking function of my CDC's never really bothered me that much, I guess if you're going for extreme levels of accuracy to older cars I could see you wanting it otherwise.
