Default RE: Gas mileage

see.. from what you guys are saying youre getting the same gas mileage as me, but with mostly all city AND you get on it, the thing that gets me worried is I dont have mostly city mileage, about half of mine is highway and I dont get on it at all. (Im waiting for my CAI and exhaust then Ill hit it) So Im just curious as to why my mileage is the same as yours yet my driving style is different and the condition is too.. maybe Florida gas is inferior to yalls? I do know some states have an ethanol mix in them and its supposed to burn alot cleaner and be more fuel efficient.. Florida does not have this mix however..

Just for the record, its not that Im dissapointed with the mpg... its a sports car, I didnt expect it to be very high. Its just the fact that everyone else with the same car is getting better mileage under worse conditions..

Put 87 back in it, do your own calculations, and then report back

Red_Stallion - Most people here are American. Their gallons are smaller hence the differenc in the numbers. Imperial gallon is 4.45 liters, U.S gallon = 3.76 liters. On a round trip to Calgary last summer I got 33 mpg (imperial gallons) from my GT.

Putting 93 in a car set-up for 87 is like dumping water in a beer and hoping to get drunker. The only two reasons you need to put anything higher than what it is set for is if you live in Finland and the temperatures are cold enough to freeze reindeer ****, or the compression ratio is set to 10/1 or higher (see also Mach 1). Otherwise, a fool and his money soon part!

That crap about it burning cleaner is good old fashion HOGWASH! Its just as scuzzy and disgusting as the other stuff Shell oil gives you!

Also just found out here in Texas that 10% of our gas is ethnol. Ethnol=30% less gas mileage. Crap.

I have not noticed much difference since the ethonal addition. I use chevron gas and actually I am getting slightly better mileage (.5)

owever that could be the age of my car as well. It is just now 3 months old. 6800 miles. I noticed the .5 last month, before the pumps started showing ethonal content(but not necesssarily before it was added)
