Camaro on sale 2006?
 

The July issue of Motortrend (page 21) talks about the convertible camaro will make its debut a few months after the coupe goes on sale in 2006... I originally thought the camaro would be a 2009 model year car. If this is not a typo and holds true, we will be seeing the GM muscle car on the road later this year.

They must be smoking crack, GM has not even decided yet if they are going to make the Camaro at all. It exists only in concept/ show car form for now.

I just read the same thing last week and thought that was a little strange. I too thought it wasn't supposed to make a debut until 2009. Besides, how could they release a car this year when they don't even have a production vehicle yet. I truely believe it was a typo.

Yea I read that too.......I dont get how it will be rushed out for late 2006 either...They havent even finalized the drivetrain yet either.....Oh well sucks for all those camaro fans who just sold everything but their pants to go buy one this year .......AHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

But, 400 hp stock is a turn on. I believe If i read it correctly it wont be much faster than the MGT because it's heavier...Did I read that correctly ??

Oh one more thing .....I just read on some camaro boards that Saleen is helping them out with parts and suspension issues, I thought Saleen was primarily a Ford place ????????[sm=WTFsgign.gif]

Maybe it will be another aussie stop-gap car. Like what they did with the GTOhno...

Autoweek says it's 08 at the earliest though and so does everyone else. Motortrend needs to get a new editor to catch those typos! (Ed.)

I caught the tail end of the 2006 Power Tour at Englishtown dragway last friday night. The camaro concept was there. I asked one of the chevy guys who was displaying the car if it has been decided if the car will be mass produced. He said, "No, it hasnt been decided."

I noticed that too, but it is clearly a typo since elsewhere in the article it says that it will first come out as a 2009 model......(or was it 2008?)

Secretly the Empire is planning an attack from austrailia with a whole fleet of Camaros!! Taking the Mustang Federation by suprise!!! But to the empires dissappointment a Saleen spy was in the midst waring Musatng owners of there arrival!! I say bring it on!!! Little more competition on the streets or maybe they will be a huge failure and only sell good in AUSSIE LAND HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
